Zarah Express is the responsible party for the personal information described here, in terms of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
What we collect
This website holds no database and sets no tracking cookies. Everything you type into the booking form stays in your browser until you choose to send it. When you press Send on WhatsApp, the details you entered are placed into a WhatsApp message that you send to us.
What reaches us in that message:
- Your name and mobile number
- Your booking details: dates, times, locations, vehicle, extras
- Anything you add in the notes field, such as a flight number or delivery address
To complete a rental we later collect what the law and our insurers require: your driving licence, identity document or passport, and proof of address.
Why we use it
- To quote, confirm and deliver the vehicle or chauffeur you asked for
- To verify your identity and driving eligibility, as our insurers require
- To handle payments, deposits, traffic fines and toll charges
- To meet our obligations under South African law
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. We share it only where it is necessary: with our insurers, with payment providers, and with authorities where the law compels us. WhatsApp carries your message and processes it under its own terms.
How long we keep it
Rental agreements and the identity documents attached to them are kept for five years after the rental ends, as required for tax and insurance purposes. Enquiries that do not become bookings are deleted within twelve months.
Your rights
You may ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. You may also object to how we use it, and you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
